We finally made it to The Donkey Sanctuary! It was a brutally hot day, I'm talking hot as f@#$! In fact, I almost passed out from the heat a couple times. We had learned about the place at the OMHS General Meeting, and it sounded amazing, so we made the drive out to Guelph. The Donkey Sanctuary is: ' a refuge for donkeys, mules and hinnies who have been neglected or abused, or who can no longer be cared for by their owners. ' Their website says: ' The Sanctuary is 100 acres of tranquility, in which we strive to live in peaceful harmony with the animals we have rescued. It is our heartfelt mission to ensure the animals who come to live out the remainder of their lives with us are surrounded by love, dignity, and the respect they so richly deserve.' No words can really describe how serene it was being there. An Everyday Hero! To us, this man is a true hero. Though he stated his reason for taking the beaver traps, was to stop kids from getting hurt, the truth of the matter is, he took them, because he knows how the traps work, and it doesn't say in the article. How does a beaver trap work? It traps the beaver underwater and drowns it. What a way to die, trapped in a cage, underwater, until death sweeps in. Was the town of Oshawa really concerned that beavers were going to be responsible for drowning the city? In a case like this, involving animals, I think the city just assumed that people would ignore it, and pretend it wasn't happening, and/or that people generally just wouldn't give a @#$%. It's a Mother@#$%ing MIracle!!! Dear MIC P: It's official. Bulls will no longer suffer a slow, painful and terrifying death in Catalonia's bullrings. History was made today when the Catalonian Parliament voted to approve an amendment of the current animal protection legislation and ban bullfighting within the region. MPs voted resoundingly in favour of a ban this morning - 68 voted for the ban, 55 voted against the ban and 9 abstained - marking a historic end to a long and hard-fought campaign. The ban will come into effect on January 1st 2012. This inspiring result came about because of a relatively simple act: people spoke out for animals, forcing politicians to turn those voices into votes. The victory is Catalonia's, but the celebration is ours too! He couldn't find land, or food. Once he made it to land, he was so tired and hungry. He was too exhausted, to kill for supper. He died, starving. All I could think was: "Give the bear some @#$%ing food, man!" What the hell. I don't want to watch some bear suffer, just to see how it will die. It's cruel, feed it some @#$%ing food. Am I alone here? If you can stop a death from happening, shouldn't you stop it? Would the world end, if you gave that bear a steak? No. Jane Goodall , now see she did it right.
