The Compassion Experiment

It's not very often you get a chance to release a book that has the chance to make the world a better place and thats exactly what this book can do. Announcing the release of book #8 of 2018, the vegan cook book Compassionate Eating for Everyday Folk . Originally released in paperback in 2014, it sold out quickly and then sat on the shelf until yesterday when I spent the day updating, upgrading and turning it into an eBook, or eCook Book, if you will. The original cook book was in development for five years and every recipe is tasty, easy to make and well, just plain delicious. Forest I'm happy to release book #7 of 2018, an action/adventure story titled Lost in the Wilderness . This has been the hardest book to complete this year, that's because this month I had to: 1. Write and complete the final half the book. 2. Do a first edit. 3. Design the cover. 4. Find pictures to be included in the book. 5. Layout the book in Vellum. 6. Do a second edit, in Vellum. 7. Upload it to Kindle Direct Publishing. 8. View the online preview and do a third edit. 9. Upload final version to KDP. 10. Write a blog about it. 11. Send a mass email 12. Book # 6! In my attempt to publish 12 books this year, I've now hit the halfway mark with Book #6, my short story anthology  Little Surfer Girl and other Tales of Hilarity and Horror. Book # 5!! I've been keeping myself busy with The Twelve Month Experiment and now with the Tribute Concert for Glynis Cunningham set for Sunday June 10, I'll be busier than ever. I still haven't found a new apartment and that's after looking for two months but my stay here is has been extended until the house sells, so fingers crossed I finally find the place I so badly need and that this house sells for the max price. Book #6 I worked hard on Book #5, The Mars Experiment, Vol. 2 and think that the layout and the overall look of the book is my best so far. Of course, if you haven't read the first volume, this book won't make any sense and that's ok. The Day after Mother's Day, my landlord, Glynis Cunningham passed away. She didn't have a funeral, ceremony of life or even an obituary, which is kind of sad. I decided I wanted to do a Tribute Concert in the backyard of her place, 1324 Roylen Road, Oakville, ON, on June 10, to honour her memory. I'm hoping to raise enough money to sponsor a Cat Kennel at the Oakville Milton Humane Society in Glynis' name because I know she would really like that, she volunteered at the OMHS in the Animal Care Dept. and she was a Cat Socializer as well. The Tribute Concert will be on Sunday, June 10. Event starts at 6, concert starts at 7. It will feature performances by me - because I'm so affordable - and the talented Robin Stevenson - because she's awesome like that. Happy to finally release this book upon the earth. The Mars Experiment is the most ambitious artistic project I've ever taken on and by releasing the first one, this means I have no choice but to finish the whole collection. This is one of the projects that is not complete, the first three volumes are 'in the can', as they say,  don't know who actually says that, but I do believe it is a term that means 'done'. The fourth volume is still in the procrastination stage, and to be honest, until I get my home life situation under control - 30 days left until I have to move out of my apartment and I have no place to move into - I probably won't be in the right state of mind to write about life on Mars. The only thing harder than finding a decent place while working a minimum wage job, is finding a place that'll take pets. For the third time in four years, I have to find a new place to rent. Unlike the two previous times, this time I am not moving out by choice but because my landlord has terminal cancer and she needs us to get out, so she can sell the place before she passes on. Watching cancer ravage such an amazing lady has been heart-wrenching. When I see her now it feels like I'm looking at a ghost, she is so frail and pale. When I talk to her she says she just wants to die. Her family is devastated and all she wants to do is sleep and smoke cigarettes and have no more pain. For those who don't know, my landlord basically saved my life last time I had to look for a place and it was through word of mouth at work (Thank you, Kirsten Dressler!) that I was even able to find this place.
