The Compassion Experiment (Day 32)

The Compassion Experiment: It's not a blog, it's a Blitter. Too short for a blog, too long for a Twitter.

One of the things we had been searching for, was reusable bags for all the vegetables we get each weekend when we shop at the Organic Garage (www.organicgarage.ca).
Even before we started The Compassion Experiment, we loaded up on veggies, now that has nearly doubled, thus doubling the amount of plastic bags needed for the veggies.
And we wanted to do something, because that is a lot of garbage being generated.
While doing our tour of the Green Living Show, we found a booth selling reusable bags for vegetables.
Credo Bags Inc. is an eco-conscious company headquartered in Montreal, Canada. Their goal is to inspire people to make small, simple changes in their everyday habits; changes that collectively and cumulatively help our environment. http://credobags.com/
We use the bags every weekend now, and our only real regret is not buying more of them. We bought a multi-pack that came with all different sizes, but we should have bought two sets.
Now we don't have to feel bad for using all those plastic bags, it really is a great solution.
It makes us so happy when we see people like Credo Bags working to make the world a cleaner, better place.
To change the world, you need to change people's habits, this is something we truly believe in.

Looks like the York OSPCA has laid off workers, due to a lack of animals.
Well, if they would have done their jobs right the first time, it wouldn't have come to this.
Out of something bad, can come something good, and in this case, it is a reminder that animal shelters are full of sick animals, and the spread of disease is the greatest threat to the population held within.
Always, always, always clean your hands after touching any of the animals.
Please get in the habit.

Have a great Wednesday!

Animals saved today: 6
Animals saved to date: 83

Note: we realize these numbers are not a true representation, but in our minds, this helps to visualize the damage we are causing when we eat animal by-products.
