One of the great things that have come out of The Compassion Experiment, has been all the new discoveries. One good decision (see: to become compassionate eaters), has led to so many new and wonderful things, it has been unbelievable. Where are you going with this? Good question! We spent this past weekend in total bliss, at Sugar Ridge Retreat, and had the time of our lives. "We're having, the time of our lives...", kept running through my head, kind of funny, but annoying at the same time. In the end we had a hell of a good time, and can't wait to go back. http://www.sugarridge.ca/ The Cabin: Our cabin had four beds, and windows all around. We had a little heater that was so powerful, a little was a lot. We were warm and cozy, we had a great view out the windows, and were greeted each morning, by a smiling sun. Brooklyn has been at the OHMS for almost 2 years! We were sent this info from B and N , and think it is important to spread the word about FIV. There are cats at the OMHS who have it, and constantly get picked over because people don't really understand the disease at all. Brooklyn, Carbon, Hart, Taters, and Tully are all great cats, and need homes too!! As seen on catchat.org: What is FIV? Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) has been associated with cats for many years, although it was only labelled as such as recently as 1986. The virus depletes the number of white blood cells, which eventually makes the cat less able to fight off infection. However, because it is such a slow acting virus many FIV positive cats can enjoy a normal lifespan with no apparent health problems resulting from the virus. Tribute Concert in memory of Glynis Cunningham

The Day after Mother's Day, my landlord, Glynis Cunningham passed away. She didn't have a funeral, ceremony of life or even an obituary, which is kind of sad. I decided I wanted to do a Tribute Concert in the backyard of her place, 1324 Roylen Road, Oakville, ON, on June 10, to honour her memory. I'm hoping to raise enough money to sponsor a Cat Kennel at the Oakville Milton Humane Society in Glynis' name because I know she would really like that, she volunteered at the OMHS in the Animal Care Dept. and she was a Cat Socializer as well. The Tribute Concert will be on Sunday, June 10. Event starts at 6, concert starts at 7. It will feature performances by me - because I'm so affordable - and the talented Robin Stevenson - because she's awesome like that. There will be drinks, snacks, refreshments etc. There will be a donation jar for the cat kennel but no cost for the fun evening.
