Earlier this year, B asked:
"Why don't you write any more? Maybe you should try writing again."
I was so inspired, I wrote a story for the Toronto Star Short Story Contest, and lost.
Big time.
BUT, I also incorporated that story into an application for a 2012 Literary Arts Award, and was judged a finalist by a jury of my peers, and the Oakville Arts Council.

The application asked for three samples.
I gave:
1. "George" the Monster - Based on a true story
2. The Compassion Experiment Cook Book - (More news to follow soon...)
3. The Car - Last fiction piece I wrote

It's exciting just to be nominated, but winning would be very, very sweet.

We'll be heading of to Las Vegas this fall for the No More Homeless Pets Conference!

We are bringing along the cameras, and will be making a documentary of the conference.
It's going to be a lot of work, but the end result, is what's going to make it all work out.

The first version sold out quickly, and we're looking forward to making a bigger, more informative and comprehensive volume 2.

Best Metal'ish albums of 2022

We use the term Metal’ish because some of our favorite albums could be considered metal adjacent, not metal necessarily, but awesome none-the-less and worthy of this list. We are always on the hunt for the next awesome metal album and this year there was no shortage of great stuff, in fact, this list could have been a lot longer. Finding all these albums on our own would be near impossible. What we do is wait until all the YouTube metal nerds put out their metal lists and we watch them - 20 or so videos so far -  and any albums we haven’t heard yet, we check them out. Basically we let them find all the good albums that we missed and then check them out and see what we think. The criteria for this list is easy: is it a kick ass album? Yes or no? I must have picked the right font, because it looks like Gop 10 ! Ok, it's no surprise that I'm procrastinating writing my newest project, though I did write a short story for the Toronto Star Short Story contest, which means I still haven't given up my dream of becoming a successful author. Lucky for me, being a successful author means: completing a project I start. Also, it should't come as a surprise that I'm single, so I've compiled a Top 10 list of the reasons for this.
