The Compassion Experiment: It's not a blog, it's a Blitter. Too short for a blog, too long for a Twitter.

Everyday we learn something new,
about amazing companies,
run by people who truly care.
Case in point:
Green Pens.
Green Pens are 100% biodegradable and contain a biological seed.
When the ink is depleted, take out the ink, and plant the pen in the garden.
In a few weeks, a flower or vegetable plant will grow.
The pen will decompose in about 8 months and will become fertilizer.
Very, very cool.

Here are some natural ways to get rid of garden pests:

To get rid of weeds, you can use boiling water or vinegar.
If you pour boiling hot water on your weeds, they will wither and die.
You can also use vinegar, but because it is an acid, you have to replace the soil.

If you have problems with slugs, you can use copper to get rid of them.
When the slug slime comes in contact with copper, it causes an electric shock.
You can find cheap copper rings at any hardware store.

But, the ultimate insect repellent is garlic.
(I guess that's another thing mosquitoes and vampires have in common).
Throw some cloves of garlic in water, let it bake in the sun.
Put the concoction in a spray bottle.
Spray plants.
Bye bye creepy crawlies.
